Originally the water mill of the historic 12C Abbey of Ronsenac in the sunny Charente, 20 miles from Angouleme and 2 miles from Villebois-Lavalette. This very large, beautiful, 4 bedroomed house, sleeps up to 10, has an acre of grounds and superb 10m x 5m swimming pool
Conveniently located on the outskirts of the village, idyllically peaceful and surrounded by the undulating, rural countryside of the Charente, ablaze with sunflowers in July, Le Moulin is the perfect setting to unwind and enjoy a barbecue and glass of wine.
The shady veranda has ample seating for all our visitors and your very own private, constant 1.25m deep pool has sun loungers and tables. The large expanse of level grounds offer the option of all types of ball games or just chill out to the sound of the mill stream.
For the more energetic, across the road is a tennis court, running track, basket ball and boules courts and an adventure playground for small children. The area abounds in country walks and signposted mountain bike tracks - cycle hire and details of walks and rides are available from the tourist office in the nearby historic town of Villebois-Lavalette. There are four golf courses within easy reach.
Le Moulin is centrally located between 5 low cost airports and only 300 miles from Caen and is ideally situated for visits to the pre historic sites of the Dordogne, the Atlantic coast at Royan and La Rochelle, Futuroscope, local river beaches and many more attractions.
