Le Moulin de L'Abbaye
Parts of Le Moulin date back to the 12c and some rooms still retain exposed ceiling beams. We have tried to retain the 'olde world charm' with our furnishings and decor.
The extensive grounds of around 1 acre, bordered by the mill stream, are excellent for ball games.
YOUR OWN VERY PRIVATE SWIMMING POOL
The stunning 10m x 5m x 1.25 constant depth pool which is surrounded by a 16m x 8m patio with sun loungers and small tables, is situated in a very private, secluded position, receiving full sun all day and has proved a constant delight for our visitors. The pool and patio area comply strictly with the new French safety legislation to include fencing and a child proof locking gate. Shady trees are adjacent to the pool, should you need them.
WELL EQUIPPED KITCHEN
The fully equipped kitchen with exposed beams, has a full size cooker, fridge, microwave, dishwasher, electric kettle, toaster and ample cooking utensils, pans, crockery, cutlery and glassware for your party. An iron and ironing board is also supplied. A table and chairs complete the furnishings.
SPACIOUS LOUNGE
The spacious 48sq metre lounge, has a parquet floor and comfortable seating around the open log fire (super for romantic evenings) or for those infrequent cooler days. One of the settees converts to a double bed, if required. There is also a large dining table and chairs for indoor eating.
Play family games from our well stocked games cupboard, read a book - see our extensive library - play music on our Ipod dock, or radio and cd player. There is now English TV, a DVD and wifi internet access.
DOWNSTAIRS TOILET & BATHROOM
There is a separate toilet and next door a large bathroom with shower cubicle, wash basin, bidet and full sized bath with shower over. Storage shelves with hair dryers complete the fittings.
UTILITY ROOM
We have an automatic washing machine, a second large fridge with freezer, vacuum cleaner and cleaning materials, clothes pegs, along with vegetable storage and spare gaz bottle. There is also a high chair.
BBQ equipment and outdoor games left by our visitors are also kept in this room.
DOWNSTAIRS BEDROOMS - 1 & 2
There are two downstairs bedrooms each with exposed beams, ideal for a self contained family unit.
Bedroom 1 has bunk beds and an en-suite shower room with wash basin and shower, leading to a further room (bedroom 2) with a king sized bed.
Both rooms have a wardrobe with shelves and hanging space, and the double room a chest of drawers.
UPSTAIRS BEDROOMS 3 & 4 AND SECOND TOILET
Bedroom 3:- is a large room and has a king sized bed and a single bed.
Bedroom 4:- This very large room, christened 'the dorm' has 3 single beds and the cot.
Both bedrooms have a wardrobe and chest of drawers.
Second Toilet:- at the top of the stairs there is a room with a toilet and wash basin.
All of the bedrooms are in the old part of the house and have exposed beams.
THE HOUSE - GENERAL INFORMATION
The house has cost effective electric central heating with individually controlled radiators in each room. Patio doors from the lounge lead to the shady veranda with table, chairs and BBQ for alfresco dining.
